Review: Burt's Bees Citrus & Ginger Root Body Wash

Burt's Bees Citrus & Ginger Root Body Wash 350ml RM 55.90

Burt's Bees in Malaysia have this recycling program that runs on every 31st of the month, where you can get 20% discount on the next purchase with every empty bottle returned. I like that they have this program because it encourages on recycling and also...I get a discount! :)

I purchased this when I ran out of my favourite Baby Bees Body Wash and the promoter also promises that all my 'daki-daki' ( accumulated dead skin ) will be washed off by this. Sounds very exaggerated, isn't it? Now let's put this to a test and see if it works, just like the promoter said, shall we?

Product Description

How it Works

Add a little spice to your life - and your shower. This sulfate-free body wash blends essential citrus oils and ginger root extract with a gentle plant-based cleansing complex to leave skin feeling clean, smooth and soft. Honey and glycerin provide skin with extra softness while aromatic botanicals rejuvenate and energise the mind and body. Lather up and breathe in the exhilarating scents of nature.

How to Use It

Apply to a sponge, loofah, washcloth or your hands and lather generously all over your body. Take a minute to breathe in the stimulating aroma then rinse, towel dry and follow up with your favourite Burt's Bees body lotion.

Ingredients: aqua (water, eau), decyl glucoside, lauryl glucoside, sucrose laurate, coco-betaine, betaine, coco-glucoside, sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein, zingiber officinale (ginger) oil, citrus grandis (grapefruit) oil, citrus aurantium dulcis (sweet orange) oil, citrus medica limonum (lemon) oil, cymbopogon schoenanthus (lemongrass) oil, citrus aurantium bergamia (bergamot) fruit oil, parfum (fragrance), glyceryl oleate, glycerin, citric acid, glucose, sodium chloride, hydroxypropyltrimonium honey, glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase, linalool, limonene, eugenol, citral

My Experience

I absolutely love body washes that smells nice and this one does live up to my standards. It has a nice and uplifting citrus-y smell. Perfect to be used in the morning! The body wash is clear and the consistency is the same as Baby Bees. That being said, this one does not foam as much.

I also like that it does not leave your skin feeling dry or make your skin squeaky clean. Unlike Baby Bees, this wash does not leave a lasting scent, so a bit of a disappointment there. Well, you might ask, did it removed all the 'daki-daki'? No, it did not. You will need an aid of a loofah should you need extra exfoliation. So, all said by the promoter is not true.

Overall

Honestly, I don't have much to say about this wash because it didn't really wow me. Yes, the smell is nice, uplifting and refreshing and..yes, it does not leave my skin feeling dry. To me, it's just a fairly decent body wash. The Baby Bee wash made more of an impression to me than this one, honestly. I would just give this a  normal rating of 3 out of 5.

This item was purchased by me for my personal purposes. This review is based on my honest and personal experience with this product and is not influenced by any parties.
